CMS Announces Next Generation ACO Model Open Door Forum

By Jacqueline DiChiara

- The Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Innovation Center revealed plans earlier this month for a new examination of accountable care with larger financial risk for hospitals and doctors and more choice for patients.

As RevCycleIntelligence.com reported earlier this week, the model supports patient-centered care by allowing beneficiaries to confirm a care relationship with ACO providers. It also encourages direct communication regarding care preferences and is designed to achieve the utmost quality care standards.

CMS Innovation Center supplements its March 10, 2015 announcement of the Next Generation Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Model of payment and care delivery with the very first open door forum. The first part of an upcoming series will focus on some of the model’s various aspects.

The open door forum takes place on Tuesday, March 17. More information is available here.
