Highlighting Top Revenue Cycle Management Vendors By User Review

The Best in KLAS vendors have been named; here are the top financial and revenue cycle management companies you should know.

- Epic, Experian Health, and Waystar are just some of the revenue cycle management vendors performing well across various operations. The 2024 Best in KLAS Software & Services report highlights the top vendors in claims management, chargemaster management, patient financial engagement, and more.

Claims Services

Experian Health’s ClaimSource received the top overall performance score for claims management and clearinghouse of 89.3 on a 100-point scale. The score was based on several customer experience pillars, including culture (B), loyalty (A), operations (A-), product (A-), relationship (A-), and value (A-). The market average for claims management and clearinghouse vendors was 84.9.

Other vendors that surpassed the market average included The SSI Group (88.8), Availity (86.7), Waystar (86.6), FinThrive (86.2), Quadax (85.7), and TruBridge (85.1).

Most respondents said they consider Experian Health, Waystar, and Availity part of their long-term claims management and clearinghouse plans.

Revecore ranked highest for complex claims service with a score of 94.2, receiving an A in loyalty, operations, relationship, and value and an A- in services. All of Revecore’s users reported that it avoids charging for every little thing.

EnableComp followed with a score of 93.4, and Aspirion received an 82.3. Aspirion received the highest score for denials management of 92.5.

Patient Services

Optum’s Patient Access solution ranked highest in the patient access category, surpassing the market average score of 81.2 with a 91.8. Experian Health’s eCare NEXT came in second with an 85.3.

Among large organizations with over 400 beds, Epic’s Resolute Hospital Billing scored the top spot for patient accounting and patient management (92.1), followed by Oracle Health (60.3). Epic’s solution also ranked highest among midsize organizations, scoring an 88.3.

MEDITECH’s Expanse Patient Accounting ranked second for midsize organizations (78.7) and first for small organizations with 150 or fewer beds (75.3).

Waystar had the top score for patient financial engagement (91.5), receiving an A or A- in all of the customer experience pillars. RevSpring was close behind with a score of 91.2. For patient financing services, ClearBalance HealthCare (94.3) and CarePayment (92.4) took the top two spots.

Chargemaster and contract management

Health Catalyst’s Vitalware VitalCDM had the highest performance score of 89.8 for chargemaster management. The Craneware Group and FinThrive followed close behind with a respective 89.5 and 87.5.

Experian Health’s Contract Manager & Analysis solution ranked highest for contract management (91.7). Most users said the vendor is part of their long-term plan, while all said they would buy the solution again.

Scheduling

QGenda had the highest performance score of 92.3 for nurse and staff scheduling, followed by Avantas (87.7). PerfectServe ranked highest for physician scheduling (91.0), with QGenda coming in second (89.2). QGenda users for both nurse and physician scheduling said they would use the solution again and see the vendor as part of their long-term plans.

Other RCM operations

State Collection Service received the top score for debt collection services of 90.7, while RSi’s Patient Accounts Receivable Management (PARM) ranked second at 90.1. Nuance received the top score for clinical documentation integrity (91.1), Dolbey ranked highest for computer-assisted coding (91.9), and Guidehouse was first for revenue cycle optimization (96.3).

For end-to-end revenue cycle outsourcing, Ensemble Health Partners received a top score of 92.9, receiving an A or A- in every customer experience pillar.
